Des Moines Airport does not currently have a Special Needs sensory area; with that being said, it has a centrally located breastfeeding pod just beyond the single security checkpoint that could potentially serve as a quiet area for a low stimulation wait if the room is not otherwise being used for other purposes & if it is permitted by the airport. To be clear, TravelingWiki Foundation does not opine on the applicability of these spaces; we specifically checked with DSM Airport leadership on available spaces, who noted that if the pod is not being used, there was no objection to using the pod for special needs purposes, though that could change at any time (which is not in our control).
